The specification
for your project.

Minimum order quantity

  • Production with custom printing: usually from 5 000 bags.
  • The minimum quantity for custom dimensions, double adhesive strips and other special solutions depends on the manufacturer.
  • The minimum quantity depends on bag dimensions, material, thickness, construction and printing.
  • The exact minimum order quantity is confirmed once the specification is finalised.

Dimensions and design

  • Dimensions are adapted to the product’s size, shape and required space.
  • Flat construction, side gusset or bottom gusset depending on production capabilities.
  • Permanent self-adhesive strip for single-use closure.
  • Double adhesive strips allow selected constructions to be used for both delivery and returns.
  • A perforated opening line can be placed between the two adhesive strips.
  • A separate or integrated shipping document pouch can be added.
  • A tamper-evident closure is available as a special solution.
  • Individual serial numbers, barcodes and QR codes require variable data printing or a separate label.
  • The position and strength of the seals are determined by the bag’s material and construction.

Material

  • LDPE film: a soft, stretchable material widely used for mailing bags.
  • HDPE film: a stiffer material, depending on production capabilities and application.
  • Multilayer coextruded polyethylene film.
  • Two-colour film, for example a white outside and black inside.
  • rLDPE film containing recycled raw material can be used; composition and recycled content are determined for each project.
  • Film thickness is selected according to shipment dimensions, weight, shape and handling conditions.
  • How well the contents are concealed depends on film layers, colour, pigmentation and thickness.
  • The material helps protect against moisture, but the finished bag’s watertightness also depends on the closure and seals.
  • Puncture and tear resistance depend on material, thickness, number of layers and bag construction.

Printing options

  • Flexographic printing depending on the selected material and production technology.
  • 1–6 print colours in certain production solutions.
  • Colours are normally specified using the Pantone system.
  • Printing of logos, text, instructions, warning markings and brand graphics.
  • Printing on one or both sides depending on construction.
  • All-over patterns and large print areas subject to the manufacturer’s technical capabilities.
  • Variable serial numbers, barcodes and QR codes are assessed separately.

Options

  • Transparent, translucent or opaque material.
  • Single-colour or two-colour film.
  • Gloss or matt surface depending on the selected material.
  • White or another light-coloured area for the shipping label.
  • With custom printing or unprinted.
  • Construction with one or two adhesive strips.

Production and delivery

  • Approximate production time: usually 3–6 weeks after approval of the specification and print file.
  • Production time depends on order quantity, material, closure construction, printing and production schedule.
  • Production time for special solutions and larger projects is confirmed separately.
  • Transport time is additional to production time.
  • Exact production and delivery times are confirmed in the quote. Delivery to Sweden is confirmed individually.

Artwork files

  • Preferred vector formats: AI, EPS or print-ready PDF.
  • Text must be converted to outlines, or the fonts used must be supplied.
  • Colour shades must be specified using Pantone codes.
  • The layout is placed on the manufacturer’s approved cutting template for the bag.
  • Allow for the position of adhesive strips, perforation, seals and the shipping label area.
  • For variable data printing, serial numbers, barcodes or QR codes must be supplied in the data format agreed with the manufacturer.
  • The print file is checked and approved before production starts.

Minimum quantity, available options and delivery arrangements to Sweden are confirmed for your order in the quote.

CHOOSE TO SUIT YOUR PRODUCT

Choose the bag to suit the product and delivery

A well-chosen mailing bag makes packing easy and gives the shipment a consistent appearance. Dimensions, film thickness and closure need to suit both the goods and their handling on the way to the customer.

LDPE and coextruded polyethylene film are common choices for clothing, textiles, accessories and other products that can be transported without impact protection. HDPE has a stiffer feel. Emballa helps you compare materials and constructions based on the product’s shape, weight and protection needs. Bags with double adhesive strips can be adapted for returns. Fragile products need padded or rigid packaging that protects against impacts and pressure.

  • E-commerce and online shops
  • Clothing and textile brands
  • Accessories and small non-fragile goods
  • Logistics, warehousing and order packing
  • Retail and wholesale
  • Delivery and return of goods

Your brand all the way to the customer

Let your logo, graphic patterns, return information or campaign message travel with the shipment. Emballa helps you choose the print area and technology to suit the material, dimensions, construction and quantity. Double-sided printing and all-over designs are assessed against the manufacturer’s capabilities; individual codes require variable data printing or separate labels.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Before you order.

Which material suits a mailing bag?

The material is selected according to shipment dimensions, weight, shape and protection needs. LDPE and coextruded polyethylene film are common choices, but thickness and construction need to be determined for each project.

Can I order mailing bags with a logo?

Yes. Custom printing can include logos, text and graphic designs. The number of colours and print area depend on material, dimensions, construction and production technology.

Can the same bag be used for returns?

Yes, with double adhesive strips and a suitable opening perforation. The second strip is left unused for the first delivery and then used to seal the return.

Are the mailing bags watertight?

The polyethylene film helps protect against moisture. The finished bag’s watertightness also depends on the closure, seals and construction and needs to be supported by relevant testing.

Is a standard mailing bag suitable for fragile products?

A standard mailing bag does not protect against impacts and pressure. Fragile products need padded packaging, a box or another construction with suitable protection.
