Minimum order quantity

  • Smaller digitally printed runs: usually from 100 pcs.
  • Flexo-printed corrugated boxes: usually from 500–1 000 pcs.
  • Unprinted standard constructions: minimum quantity depends on dimensions, material and manufacturer.
  • The exact quantity is confirmed based on construction, dimensions, printing and delivery quantity.

Dimensions and design

  • Made to the customer's required internal dimensions.
  • Dimensions are stated as length × width × height in millimetres.
  • FEFCO 0201: a standard slotted box with outer flaps that meet when closed.
  • FEFCO 0203: fully overlapping outer flaps for a reinforced base and top.
  • Die-cut, self-locking, crash-lock bottom, telescopic and other FEFCO constructions.
  • The choice depends on product dimensions, weight, packing method, stacking and transport.
  • Boxes are normally supplied flat-packed and assembled at the point of use.

Material and strength

  • Common profiles: E-, B- and C-flute, plus EB and BC double-wall board.
  • Single-wall corrugated board usually consists of three paper layers and suits lighter or medium-weight products.
  • Double-wall corrugated board usually consists of five paper layers and provides greater compression, impact and stacking strength.
  • The outer surface can be natural brown or white.
  • Strength depends on the flute profile, the grammage and quality of the paper layers and, where required, ECT or BCT requirements.
  • Material is selected according to internal dimensions, product weight, stacking height, storage time and transport conditions.
  • E-flute is thin with a good printing surface; B-flute provides good compression resistance; C-flute is thicker with better cushioning.
  • For food and bakery products, direct or indirect food-contact requirements are assessed for the selected construction and use.

Printing

  • Flexo printing for larger runs, logos, text, handling symbols and simpler multicolour designs.
  • Digital printing for smaller runs and detailed or frequently changing designs.
  • A preprinted or laminated outer layer can provide a more premium full-colour surface.
  • Printing on the outside or inside, depending on construction and production technology.
  • The number of colours, print area and technology are determined by design, material and quantity.

Details and closure

  • Handle holes, ventilation holes, tear strips and other structural details.
  • Packing tape, glue, staples, locking flaps or integrated closures.
  • Corrugated dividers, compartments, interleaves and shaped inserts for securing and protecting products.
  • Fully overlapping flaps, extra layers, reinforced corners and separate protectors can increase strength.
  • Die-cut constructions may require a separate cutting die.

Delivery times

  • Standard production and delivery time: approximately 2–4 weeks after construction and design approval.
  • Projects with a new cutting die, sample or more complex insert are scheduled separately.
  • The exact time depends on construction, material, printing technology, quantity and production capacity.

Artwork files

  • Vector graphics in PDF, AI or EPS are preferred.
  • The design is placed on the manufacturer's approved dieline.
  • Text is converted to outlines and linked images are supplied at the required resolution.
  • Flexo printing colours are normally specified using Pantone codes.
  • Construction and design layouts are approved before production.

Minimum quantity, available options and delivery arrangements to Sweden are confirmed for your order in the quote.

CHOOSE TO SUIT YOUR PRODUCT

Construction and strength are selected together

A well-chosen corrugated box holds the product in place and uses transport space efficiently. The right internal dimensions can limit movement and reduce the need for void fill. The material's strength must also suit stacking and transport.

FEFCO 0201 is a common choice for storage and transport. FEFCO 0203 provides extra strength with fully overlapping flaps. For heavier or more demanding goods, EB or BC double-wall board may be suitable, but the final choice also depends on paper quality, dimensions, weight, ECT/BCT and storage time. Inserts and opening features can be adapted to the packing process.

  • E-commerce and courier shipments.
  • Industrial products, equipment and spare parts.
  • Grouping food, bakery products and beverages.
  • Home products, clothing and retail goods.
  • Warehouse, logistics and export packaging.
  • Moving, archive and storage boxes.

Logo and handling information

Emballa, backed by Plastrum OÜ in Estonia, compares manufacturers and selects the FEFCO construction, flute profile, strength and printing for the product and logistics chain. Send internal dimensions, a product description, weight, quantity, stacking and transport conditions, the number of colours and preferably a design or sample.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Before you order.

Which corrugated board suits heavier products?

EB or BC double-wall board is often used. The final choice depends on box dimensions, weight, stacking, storage time and transport, as well as paper quality and strength requirements.

What is the difference between FEFCO 0201 and 0203?

In 0201, the outer flaps meet when closed. In 0203, they overlap fully to give the base and top additional strength.

Can the box have custom dimensions?

Yes. Specify internal dimensions as length × width × height in mm, together with the product's weight.

Can the boxes be printed with our logo?

Yes. Logos, text, handling symbols and full designs can be printed. Technology, colour count and print area depend on material, design and run size.

What information is needed for a quote?

Internal dimensions, product and weight, quantity, transport and stacking conditions, the number of colours and preferably a design file or sample of the current box.
