FORMAT · MATERIAL · PRINTING

The specification
for your project.

Minimum order quantity

  • Paper void fill, tissue paper and other standard stock products: the minimum quantity depends on the sales pack.
  • Material consumption and minimum quantities for air cushion and paper cushioning systems depend on the equipment and supply agreement.
  • Custom sizes, custom colours and printing: the minimum quantity is confirmed according to material and specification.

Format and construction

  • Paper void fill in rolls, sheets, strips, folded packs and ready-made paper cushions.
  • Slit honeycomb paper opens into a three-dimensional mesh when stretched; mainly used for wrapping and surface separation.
  • Expandable paper protective sleeves fit different product diameters and protect sides and surfaces.
  • Crinkle-cut paper strips for void filling, securing and decorative fill.
  • Paper cushioning systems form cushions from one or more paper layers.
  • Air cushion film is supplied uninflated on a roll and inflated at the packing station using a compatible machine.
  • Width, length, grammage and final fill shape depend on the product and system.

Material

  • Natural or white kraft paper for void filling, cushioning and separation.
  • Expandable honeycomb paper, thin tissue paper and crinkle-cut paper strips.
  • Air cushion film made of PE or another material compatible with the system.
  • Recycled content, fibre origin, certificates and recyclability must be confirmed for the specific product and manufacturer.

Printing

  • Standard technical materials are usually supplied without printing.
  • Logos and repeat designs may be possible on tissue paper, honeycomb paper and certain air cushion films.
  • Feasibility, number of colours and print area depend on material, dimensions and quantity.

Options

  • Natural, white, coloured or with a custom design.
  • Cut sheets, perforation, folded material packs and dispenser solutions.
  • Crinkle-cut paper fill with different strip widths, densities and colours.
  • Air cushion shape, chamber dimensions, perforation and inflation pressure must suit the machine.
  • Paper cushioning strength and volume are adjusted through the number of layers, grammage and forming method.

Delivery times

  • Standard stock materials: usually 1–3 weeks.
  • Custom sizes, custom colours and printed paper materials: timing depends on material and quantity.
  • Air cushion and paper cushioning systems: timing depends on equipment, consumables and service arrangements.
  • Exact timing is confirmed according to type, dimensions, use and quantity.

Artwork files

  • No artwork is needed for unprinted materials.
  • Supply the logo or design as a vector file for printed tissue paper, honeycomb paper or air cushion film.
  • Print area, repeat length, number of colours and file requirements are approved before production.

Systems and consumption

  • Honeycomb paper can be used alone or with thin interleaving paper; a dispenser helps stretch the material evenly.
  • Protective sleeve diameter, length and coverage are selected to suit the product and can be combined with other void fill.
  • Air cushions are inflated at the point of use, and uninflated film takes up less storage space than pre-formed void fill.
  • Machine selection considers packing speed, workstation dimensions, maintenance, material availability and purchase, rental and supply terms.
  • For regular consumption, larger production batches, a delivery schedule and agreed stockholding can be considered.

Minimum quantity, available options and delivery arrangements to Sweden are confirmed for your order in the quote.

CHOOSE TO SUIT YOUR PRODUCT

Void filling, cushioning or surface separation?

The right void fill limits product movement and can reduce damage from impacts and vibration. Air cushions often suit larger voids around lighter products. Paper fill and formed paper cushions can provide firmer restraint and cushioning.

Honeycomb paper and protective sleeves suit wrapping and surface separation. For heavy or very fragile products, the protection provided by the complete pack must be assessed, sometimes with corner or surface protection. Provide product dimensions, weight, internal box dimensions, number of parcels, current material and known damage to compare material consumption, packing speed and total cost.

  • Void filling in shipping and postal boxes.
  • Securing products and reducing movement inside the pack.
  • Cushioning against impacts and vibration.
  • Wrapping glass, ceramics, cosmetics and craft products.
  • Separating surfaces and packaging layers.
  • E-commerce, production, warehousing and logistics.
  • Decorative fill for gift and presentation boxes.

Branded fill for the inside of the pack

Emballa, backed by Plastrum OÜ in Estonia, compares materials for manual packing and paper or air cushion systems. Custom printing may be offered on certain materials after checking quantity and method. Machine-based solutions also require the number of packing stations and daily or monthly consumption.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Before you order.

Which material is suitable for filling voids?

Air cushions are often used for lighter products and larger voids. Paper fill or formed cushions may suit applications needing firmer restraint or cushioning.

Can honeycomb paper replace bubble wrap?

It may suit wrapping, surface separation and moderate protection. Suitability must be assessed for the product and through transit testing; it does not automatically replace stronger cushioning.

Is a machine needed?

Manually used paper fill, honeycomb paper and crinkle-cut strips do not always require equipment. Paper and air cushions are normally made using a compatible machine.

Can void fill have a logo?

Certain tissue papers, honeycomb papers and air cushion films can be printed. Feasibility and minimum quantity depend on material, dimensions, number of colours and manufacturer.

Can paper fill be recycled?

Many clean paper materials can be sorted with paper packaging. Handling depends on composition, coatings, local systems and the specific product's technical data.
